Our client is a top five US e-commerce solutions provider with annual revenues in excess of $500m. Through its integrated e-commerce platform, based around key technology, marketing services, and logistics and customer care components, the company now provides e-commerce solutions for more than 50 partners to companies in the retailing, branded manufacturing, entertainment and professional sports sectors.
The company is looking for a highly-motivated and enthusiastic Senior Developer to join the development team in Barcelona.
The right candidate should have high knowledge of PHP 5.0, SQL, HTML and XML, have experience building dynamic content websites, be familiar with the eCommerce order life cycle, have experience working with payment gateways, fulfillment companies, marketing services, tracking systems, call centers and content management systems. It is required that the candidate feels comfortable in a team working environment with extended use of concurrent versioning tools and QA procedures.
Responsibilities fall into 2 main areas:
Application Development
• Prepare the technical specifications for simple projects with the assistance of the Architecture Manager and the Senior Analyst
• Assist Senior Analysts in the preparation of functional and technical analysis of complex developments
• Backup of Senior analysts in case of unavailability.
• Code and test major features
• Create technical documentation
• Assist Project Manager in the definition of project scope and detailed project plan
• Report to Project Manager project status, exceptions (issues, changes, risks, …) and any other topic related to the project
Project Team Management
• Coordinate programmers from a technical point of view to ensure that development is done according to project technical specifications and priorities
• Support programmers in technical aspects of the project
• Support programmers in module/unit tests
Minimum Requirements:
• Knowledge of PHP 5.0, SQL, HTML, XML and CVS (control versioning system)
• Fluent in English
Desirable Requirements:
• Knowledge of UML, Oracle PL/SQL, Javascript, JQuery, AJAX, and CSS
• Experience and/or interest in web, new technologies and capable of proposing innovative features
• Multitasking abilities, proactive learning person
