Our client is a top five US e-commerce solutions provider with annual revenues in excess of $500m. Through its integrated e-commerce platform, based around key technology, marketing services, and logistics and customer care components, the company now provides e-commerce solutions for more than 50 partners to companies in the retailing, branded manufacturing, entertainment and professional sports sectors.
The company is looking for a Front End Developer to join the User Experience team in Barcelona.The right candidate should have high knowledge of XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript coding and have experience in working with dynamic content websites.
The main tasks consist in developing and coding templates in XHTML, CSS and JavaScript, implementing them into frontend/backend environments. Tasks such as content repurposing, eShop configuration are sometimes required.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Advanced knowledge of XHTML and CSS (semantic and W3C compliant code, crossbrowser)
• Good knowledge of JavaScript (DOM, AJAX Technologies)
• Familiar with JavaScript library jQuery
• Proactive team player
• Experience working with template systems (e.g.: smarty) and content management systems
• Experience and/or interest in web, new technologies and capable of proposing innovative features
• Proactive learning person, multitasking abilities
• Ability to follow a project plan and meet deadlines
• XML, Actionscript and PHP would be a plus
• Experience working with an IDE (aptana, eclipse) and with version control systems (CVS, SVN)
• Familiar with MAC OS
Responsibilities:
• Implement client side e-commerce websites using XHTML, CSS and JavaScript (jQuery and Ajax)
• Management and styling of templates (create unobtrusive and semantic code)
• Implement client side JavaScript functionalities
• Maintaining online e-commerce sites
• Create documentation
• Understanding existing or new shops and contribute to improve, optimize and develop new features
• Help improving our department workflow
Requirements:
• Advanced knowledge of XHTML and CSS coding
• High knowledge of JavaScript and jQuery
• 3+ year of working experience in IT environment (e-commerce would be a plus)
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
• Spoken and written English and Spanish
• Experience with XML, Actionscript, PHP and version control systems would be a plus
